New GM of Hilton Charlotte & Towers

Andreas A. Ioannou has been named general manager of the 407-room Hilton Charlotte & Towers in Charlotte, North Carolina. Andreas most recently served as resident manager of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City, a position held since 1999.
A 13-year Hilton veteran, Ioannou began his career in 1989 as a restaurant manager of Kabby`s at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. He then joined the Hilton Atlanta Airport as director of restaurants in 1990. In 1992 he became the assistant director of food & beverage at the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort & Towers and was then promoted to director of food & beverage for the Hilton McLean Tyson`s Corner. From 1995 to 1998 he returned to the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort & Towers where he served as director of food & beverage and area director food & beverage for the Hiltons of Florida; in 1998 he was promoted to executive assistant manager at the same hotel before joining the Waldorf-Astoria in his most recent position.


Ioannou received a bachelor of science degree in hotel, restaurant & tourism administration and a master in business administration, both from the University of New Orleans.
