Seventy percent of American travelers admitted to getting lost on a trip according to a survey by Best Western International. Of those, 51 percent drove up to 25 miles out of their way inevitably bringing up the question, å“Are we there yet?å”

The online Trip Planner allows travelers to enter their starting and destination points and get a driving route and a list of Best Western properties located along the way. It provides printable, detailed maps and driving directions, mileage calculations, estimated driving times and links to information, photos and booking capability for the hotels located one-half-mile, one, three or five miles off the planned route. The trip planner works for all U.S. and Canadian locations and numerous international destinations.

Best Western also wants to help you plan the perfect summer road trip. A Kidz Korner has been added to the hotel chain’s website featuring downloadable games and activities to occupy kids while in the car, or even on an airplane. The section also contains tips on ways to get the children involved during the trip. There’s also a link to packing tips with some unique advice to consider before jamming your suitcase full of unnecessary items.
