Northwest Airlines NWAC has announced plans to begin year-round nonstop service between its Memphis, Tenn. hub and Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, beginning October 27, 2002.
The Grand Cayman flight will begin and conclude at Northwest`s WorldGateway at Detroit hub and stop in Memphis, providing 1-stop service between Detroit and Grand Cayman.
The Detroit-Memphis-Grand Cayman flights will be operated with the modern Airbus A320 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in First Class and 132 passengers in Coach Class.
The new flights will be Northwest`s first year-round service from one of its hubs to Grand Cayman. Northwest has previously offered limited winter seasonal service to Grand Cayman from its Detroit and Minneapolis/St. Paul hubs.
Northwest will announce its schedule of additional winter seasonal service to popular Caribbean destinations, including Grand Cayman, later this year.
