Marriott to Open Courtyard Hotel in Newark, California

WASHINGTON - June 5, 2002 - Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) is scheduled to open the 181-room Courtyard by Marriott in Newark, Calif. this June. Located at 34905 Newark Blvd., the Courtyard by Marriott Newark/Silicon Valley will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by CNL Hospitality Corp. of Orlando, Fla. and managed by Marriott International, Inc. of Bethesda, Md.


Situated 20 miles from Oakland International Airport, the Courtyard by Marriott Newark/Silicon Valley offers guests convenient access to the Network Associates Coliseum, Paramount’s Great America and downtown San Francisco. Rates begin at $109 per night.
