Navigant President and Chief Operating Officer to Retire

Thomas Nulty, 57, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Navigant International
, has announced his decision to retire at the end of this year after a 35-year career in the travel industry.


As a result, effective Jan. 1, 2003, Navigant chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), Edward S. Adams, 52, will assume the additional responsibilities and title f President, a position he previously held. Mr. Nulty`s operating responsibilities are being assumed by the Company`s eight regional presidents and Gina Keating, the company`s vice president of operations. At present, Navigant is not naming a new COO.


“I want to congratulate Thom on his outstanding career in the travel industry and for his role in consolidating Navigant`s many acquisitions while driving product innovations and high levels of client service,” commented Mr. Adams. “Thom was also instrumental in the national and international branding of Navigant resulting in its worldwide recognition as an industry leader. His knowledge of travel was often sought by the media in their coverage of this dynamic industry. I`m very thankful for Thom`s contributions and wish him well in his retirement,” Mr. Adams concluded.


Mr. Nulty`s career spanned over 35 years in the travel industry. After nearly 20 years with American and Continental Airlines, Mr. Nulty joined Associated Travel, located in Santa Ana, Calif., as president in 1984. Associated Travel was acquired by Navigant in 1997, and in 1999 Mr. Nulty became Navigant`s president and COO.


In announcing his retirement, Mr. Nulty commented, “Being part of the team that grew Navigant into the second largest travel management company in North America has been tremendously fulfilling and the highlight of my career. With its solid regional structure led by experienced travel executives and a broad and growing array of service and product offerings, Navigant is performing well and will be a major beneficiary as corporate travel transactions increase. I will continue to take great pride in the company as Ed and the FLYR team move on to even greater heights.”

Edward S. Adams was the founder, chairman, and CEO of Professional Travel Corporation, a Colorado-based company that was the predecessor to Navigant International. In his role as chairman and CEO he oversees all strategic planning for Navigant, including the 38 acquisitions the company has completed since 1998.
