Delta Launches Online Mileage Purchase Program

SkyMiles program today announced that non-profit organizations now can purchase miles online from Deltaå‘s SkyRewards program for fundraising campaigns.
In addition to the convenience and affordability of purchasing frequent flyer miles online, Delta offers non-profit customers complimentary personal marketing assistance.
“Frequent flyer miles are great incentives to motivate charitable donors to aid worthy non-profit organizations,” said Christine Pierce, Delta’s director of Partnership Marketing. “The personal care and assistance our fundraising program offers is the solution for groups needing an innovative donation campaign.”

Organizations may enroll in SkyRewards and begin purchasing miles at delta.com/skyrewards now

. Through SkyRewards, companies and organizations have the opportunity to purchase miles in any denomination over the minimum purchase of 60,000 miles.
The cost is $0.022 per mile, plus 7.5 percent Federal Excise Tax, and a $75 one-time processing fee.
Once miles have been purchased, the organization can choose to receive electronic miles or paper certificates for distribution. Electronic miles can be awarded via e-card, e-mail or by submitting an Excel file containing award information on delta.com.
SkyMiles members can use miles for Award Travel throughout the world, upgrades and other travel benefits.

Delta SkyMiles members earn mileage by flying Delta, Delta Connection carriers, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle and Delta`s airline partners, including Delta`s SkyTeam partners. The Delta SkyMiles program offers many other mileage-building opportunities, including the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express, AT&T telecommunication services, Nextel® wireless services, EarthLink? Internet services, participating hotels, car rental companies, restaurants, home buying and selling, cruise line and flower purchases.
