BA Codeshare Iberia and GB Airways

British Airways, its oneworld partner Iberia and franchise partner GB Airways are to launch a range of new codeshare routes.

From February 20, the British Airways code will be added to Iberia’s Spanish services between London Heathrow and Seville, Valencia, Malaga, Santiago de Compostela and Bilbao. At the same time, Iberia will add their code to British Airways operated services between London, Gatwick and Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.

The arrangement will also enable Iberia to add its code to nine GB Airways operated services; London Gatwick and Almeria, Girona-Costa Brava, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Mahon-Menorca, Malaga, Seville and Valencia, and London Heathrow to Malaga.

Today’s announcement marks the second phase in the airlines’ wide ranging commercial agreement which was signed in July 2002 and aims to deepen the relationship between the three carriers.

Michael Jackson, British Airways’ head of alliances and franchises, said: ” This move marks another step forward in the relationship between the three carriers and will deliver significant customer benefits through improved frequencies, more choice and greater value for our customers. It also reflects our commitment to finding new opportunities to work together in the interests of our customers and to strengthen our strategic global alliance, oneworld.”
