Vanguard Airlines Reports November Traffic

Kansas City, MO—Vanguard Airlines, Inc. reported traffic for the month of November 2001 of 87.9 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs). Capacity was 135.6 million available seat miles (ASMs). Load factor was 64.8 percent.


As compared to November of last year, traffic increased 12 percent from 78.2 million RPMs; capacity decreased two percent from 138.5 million ASMs; and load factor increased 8.3 points from 56.5 percent.


“Vanguard’s traffic levels are returning to near normal levels at a good pace,” said Scott Dickson, CEO and President of Vanguard Airlines. “We had a tremendous Thanksgiving travel period with a 100 percent completion factor and 85 percent on-time performance. Passengers across our national network are clearly supporting Vanguard’s initiative to provide quality, low-fare service.”


For the first eleven months of the year, load factor increased 6.5 points to 66.1 percent from 59.6 percent for the same period in 2000. Year-to-date RPMs increased 12 percent to 992.0 million from 886.5 million, and year-to-date ASMs increased one percent to 1,501.2 million from 1,488.2 million, in each case as compared to the same period last year.
