Sabre Cuts Jobs.

Sabre Holdings has made good on its prediction of job losses as the company laid off 470 employees, 7.8% of its work force of 6,000, on Monday.
Sabre had warned in October that it would cut as much as 10% of its work force following the September downturn in the travel industry. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that laid-off workers will remain on Sabre`s payroll through December. They will receive severance packages of approximately two weeks` pay for every year of service. Sabre is also providing outplacement service and job counseling for those employees. A look at the Sabre Web site Careers section, which sports the motto, “win at work, win at life”, shows just two vacancies worldwide. One is for a senior accountant, the other a legal secretary.
