Gulf Air Additions To Corporate Accounting


Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Qatar, has announced four new senior appointments in the Corporate Accounting Department of the Finance Division.
Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Accounting, the new managers have been selected to provide key skills required in the rebuilding process.  Within the Finance Division, they will ensure accounting integrity and the implementation and compliance with internationally accepted accounting standards.


Mr Isa Yousif Jamal is the new Manager Accounting Operations. He will be responsible for all Head Office accounts, and payroll accounting and administration.


Mr Anwar Ahmed has been appointed as Manager of Accounts Administration. His broad role includes maintaining the General Ledger, issuing budget instructions and administering the budget in the General Ledger, and reviewing applications for capital expenditure.


Mr Sudarasan Vachaspathi has been appointed to the position of Manager Management Information. It his task to ensure that all the internal and external financial reporting requirements of the company are met.
Mr Andre Wium assumes the position of Manager Accounting Systems and will be responsible for maintaining the financial accounting and reporting systems. His brief also includes the continual evaluation of financial policies and procedures to ensure that they are valid and relevant.
Announcing the appointments, James Hogan, President & Chief Executive of Gulf Air said: “Gulf Air is undergoing a very demanding period requiring the very highest calibre of skilled employees. Concerted measures are now being taken, specifically in terms skills development and re-training, to ensure that the airline makes better use of the expertise that exist within the organisation, as well as to tap into the wealth of skills within the Owner States.”
