America West Airlines Is Recruiting Employees To Support Growth

America West Airlines announced that it
will hold a company-wide career fair on Sat., April 8, 2000.  The event will
be held at the airline`s corporate headquarters building located at 111 West
Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe, Ariz., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
 
“The airline will be recruiting for all open positions and we will have
executives from several departments available to answer questions,” said
Margaret Luciano, director of staffing.  “The event will be informal and fun
as we educate applicants about the career opportunities at America West.”
 
Applications will be taken at the career fair.  Candidates will be
contacted the week of April 10, 2000, to schedule interviews.  Representatives
from America West`s medical benefits department and the free travel bureau
will be available to explain the airline`s comprehensive compensation package.
 
America West`s growth has created the need for additional employees in
many areas including: customer service positions such as ground operations
agents, cargo agents and passenger service agents; operational positions
including flight attendants, aircraft mechanics, avionics mechanics and ground
support mechanics; and administrative positions such as human resources,
finance, accounting and revenue management.
