Air Atlanta Icelandic has received a new approval certificate for its Type Rating Training Organisation from the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration. The new certificate, issued on 31 May 2002, states that Air Atlanta complies in all respects with the pan-European Joint Aviation Requirements known as JAR-FCL.

The airline is now empowered to operate the type rating training organization for the Boeing 747. 757 and 767 aircraft.

Air Atlanta ‘s Type Rating Training Organisation received its first approval certificate for Boeing 747 in December 1999. Air Atlanta was the first airline in Iceland to receive such an approval.

The head of training is Mr. Sigurjon Thordarson.
