Continental Airlines Reports Record November Load Factor

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) today reported a systemwide load factor of 72.9 percent in November, the highest November load factor in company history and 3.1 points above the previous record set last year.

In November 1999, Continental flew 4.9 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 6.8 billion available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 16.8 percent on a capacity increase of 11.8 percent versus November 1998. International traffic was 1.8 billion RPMs, up 29.6 percent from November 1998 and international capacity was 2.5 billion ASMs, up 24.2 percent from last year.


Continental Express, Continental`s wholly owned regional subsidiary, reported its highest November load factor ever of 62.4 percent, 3.3 points above last November`s record. Continental Express flew 199.8 million RPMs and 320.1 million ASMs in November, resulting in a traffic increase of 44.4 percent and a capacity increase of 36.7 percent versus last year.
