British gold medal hopefuls Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent will be among a group of Olympic athletes flying to Sydney with British Airways tonight (Friday, August 25).

The airline will carry 500 athletes, coaches and support staff the 10,555 miles to the 2000 Olympic Games where 198 countries will compete.

British Airways is an official sponsor of Team GB. The airline has developed the British Airways Olympic Futures Programme, together with the British Olympic Association. The programme has run three training camps for future Olympic hopefuls.
