ADVICE TO CUSTOMERS TRAVELLING ON SATURDAY MARCH 17

British Airways is advising its customers to arrive for flights as normal today (Saturday March 17) but to expect average delays of up to 45 minutes on all services.

The airline continues to experience problems with its computer systems and this is affecting check-in for all departing flights from its airports in the UK and overseas.

Mike Street, Director of Customer Services and Operations, said: “We would like to apologise to all our customers and reassure them that we are doing everything we can to minimise the inconvenience. We have laid on extra staff in the terminals and most flights are now getting away with minimal delays.

“The situation is under control and the delays are beginning to shorten. In the meantime, we are offering our customers to change their travel plans if they wish.”

The airline has set up an freephone number for customers wanting further information. The number to call is 0800 727800.
