Part of this years DEMA Show, the 7th Annual Dive Travel Conference, will take place on October 7, 2003, one day before the Showå‘s official opening. The one-day pre-show conference will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center and will be hosted by DEMA in conjunction with the Dive Travel Resource Group (DTRG).
Completely updated and designed specifically for those dive retailers who want to fast-track their success selling dive travel in today’s business environment, this ICTA accredited conference features seven targeted seminars and problem-solving sessions with industry experts, covering the key success strategies that tap into dive travel’s vast potential.
Scuba diving retailers, group leaders and trip coordinators will discover the importance of working with an experienced seller of travel, learn how to tap into their community and create an atmosphere that drives group dive travel sales and builds their retail operation. Dive resorts and live aboard operators will find out how to profit from the recent changes in the dive travel industry and uncover three key ways to fill their beds and boats. Travel agents, tour operators and outside sales agents will find out how to appeal to the traveling diver, increase sales from existing leisure clients and develop a lucrative specialty in dive travel. Tourism representatives will gain valuable insight into the promotion of dive travel products and understand why the 2002 National Travel Monitor deemed Dive Travel to be one of the most important niche markets for Caribbean
“Attending this year’s conference is essential for anyone involved in selling snorkeling and scuba diving holidays - attendees can then visit the largest gathering of the world’s dive travel suppliers at the 4-day trade show that follows,” said Tom Ingram, DEMA’s Executive Director.
Continuing to be the largest trade event in the world for companies doing business in the scuba diving, water sports and adventure travel industries, DEMA Show 2003 will take place October 8 - 11, 2003 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. According to show management, National Trade Productions (NTP), more than 800 different companies are expected to exhibit and more than 14,000 people are expected to attend.
Open to qualified industry professionals only, DEMA Show 2003 is a trade event presented by the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA), an international organisation dedicated to the promotion and growth of the recreational scuba diving and snorkeling industry. With more than 1,200 members, this non-profit, global organisation promotes scuba diving through many initiatives including consumer awareness programs, media campaigns and sponsorship of the DEMA Show.
