Tenzing Communications will implement its inflight email and Web service across VARIG`s fleet of new 777 aircraft.
VARIG, Latin America`s largest airline, will begin installing the service in Q4 of 2001.
Passengers will access the service by plugging their laptops into VARIG`s inflight entertainment system, the new MAS 3000 provided by Matsushita and equipped with a Tenzing server, and dialing into the Tenzing Global network. Users can register at the Tenzing or VARIG Web sites or by using CDs provided in the seat-back pockets. Passengers will also have access to free Web content from news, sports and entertainment sites. Specific regional content will also be provided for Varig passengers. Customer care for this service will be available around the clock in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
