Fairmont Pacific Rim announce new hotels

12th Mar 2009

The Fairmont Pacific Rim is scheduled to open in 2010 and is in Coal Harbour, boarded by Gastown on the east, the financial district on the south and the Burrard Inlet to the north. The hotel will include 415 rooms and 200 residential condos with an unrivalled location adjacent to the Vancouver Conference Centre expansion. Fairmont Tremblant

Fairmont Tremblant has begun the remodelling of its terrace level, transforming it into an entire convention centre area. The 1.5 million dollar investment will help better serve the group market which increases year after year. Furthermore, this new addition, designed once again by architects from the Arcop Group and designers from Patricia McClintock & Associates was created to provide both modern conveniences and state of the art technology along with a warm decor reflecting mountain life.

Located on the terrace level, the new Soutana room consists of two separate meeting rooms divided by a pre-function area. The larger meeting space, Soutana I & II are adjacent to the Soutana III and may be used as one meeting area including a bright pre-function or can be divided into three separate function areas. When used entirely, the Soutana can accommodate up to 500 people for a reception and 300 banquet style. A large pre-function area surrounds the Soutana room, naturally lit by numerous windows. This ideal meeting area also offers a poolside terrace as well as a private terrace adjacent to Soutana III.

Almost 40 years ago, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were the most talked-about visitors in Montreal when they chose to hold their infamous Bed-In for Peace in suite 1742 of Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, from May 26 to June 2, 1969. This spring, special events and exhibits will take place to commemorate the Bed-In’s 40th anniversary, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts’ special free exhibition entitled Imagine, featuring artwork from Yoko Ono as well as photographs, records, movies and clips detailing their famous weeklong peace protest.
