Galileo signs deal with RAK Airways

Galileo has signed a new agreement with United Arab Emirates carrier, RAK Airways. As a result of the agreement, RAK Airways’ fares and inventory will be made available to users of the Galileo GDS system. The deal takes immediate effect and represents a continuation of Galileo’s successful strategy of securing airline content programmes across the globe. RAK Airways is the tenth airline to sign up with Galileo in the Middle East this year.

‘We are delighted to have secured RAK Airways’ content for our agency customers,’ commented Rabih Saab, Travelport GDS’s vice-president for the Middle East and Africa. ‘We are committed to bringing the best content to our travel agents through the most effective channel. By working closely with airlines such as RAK Airways we are ensuring Galileo-connected agencies continue to have access to important content.’

Capt. Khalid Almeer, chief operating officer from RAK Airways commented, ‘We are delighted to be partnering with a leading player in the travel industry. Galileo is a well established GDS and has a very strong presence worldwide - this agreement provides us with invaluable access to their travel agency network both in the Middle Eastern market as well as abroad.

RAK Airways (RT) is the fourth national airline of the United Arab Emirates, established in February 2006. The airline offers flights to Beirut (Lebanon), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Dakar (Senegal).
