Iberia signs on Worldspan

Iberia is signing a new three-year participating carrier agreement with global travel technology provider Worldspan, L.P.  The agreement provides for Iberia to distribute its full content through the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS) to travel agencies, travel Web sites and corporations worldwide that rely on Worldspan for travel planning and procurement. Full content includes Iberia schedules, availability and fares, including Web fares.

“The Worldspan GDS is an important channel for delivering our products electronically to travel buyers worldwide who rely on Iberia for air transport services,” said Jose Arribas Moro, vice president - Commercial Logistics for Iberia. “Worldspan’s reach, and superior distribution and transaction processing services both enhance the marketing goals and support internal operational efficiencies at Iberia.”

“Worldspan is pleased to partner with Iberia in providing increasingly advanced airline-focused solutions and services, including the broadest reach of any one distributor into Web-based travel distribution,” said Kevin Ficco, vice president - Airline Distribution and Business Development for Worldspan.

Iberia is a Worldspan Airline Source® participant, the highest level of connectivity for airlines in distributing their products and services through the Worldspan GDS. Iberia has also implemented industry-leading e-ticketing capabilities from Worldspan, ensuring travel buyers in 30 key Iberia markets around the globe are able to secure e-tickets on the airline via Worldspan, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the United States and Latin America.
