Dubai carrier Emirates Airlines has delayed delivery of 20 Airbus A340-600 until 2011 or 2012, La Tribune reported Monday. Deliveries “will be deferred until the manufacturer comes back with a clearer plans about an enhanced version of the aircraft,” an Emirates official told the French newspaper.

The order was placed in 2003 at the value of $4.2 billion and the first of the jets was expected to be delivered in 2007
