Great Hotels Boasts New Member

Great Hotels of the World is delighted to announce that it has a new member hotel opening in Mallorca, Spain. Nestled on 900-m stretch of seafront on the eastern coast of Mallorca, near to the pretty fishing village and marina of Porto Petro, Blau PortoPetro Beach Resort & Spa is set to open on 18th June this year.
The hotel, with facilities to accommodate families and business travellers alike, will offer over 300 large and comfortable rooms, suites and villas in 12 Mediterranean-style units, each no more than three storeys high. The rooms and suites will be surrounded by a fragrant pine forest that extends to the sandy beach and have been decorated in a stylish neutral palette to emphasise the stunning Mediterranean views. Ten ultra-luxurious villas will boast two bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchenette, as well as a private pool or outdoor Jacuzzi and 24-hour butler service.

The hotel offers five restaurants, each of which offers a different style of menu choice, from gourmet, Japanese and Spanish specialities, to the special children’s restaurant and non-smoking buffet restaurant. In addition, two pool bars, a lobby bar and a live piano bar provide an extensive choice of after-hours entertainment, serving cocktails, beverages and light snacks.

Adults and children alike will find plenty of activities on offer at Blau PortoPetro Beach Resort & Spa, due to its extensive range of outdoor opportunities. The hotel provides six floodlit clay tennis courts, a diving centre and sailing school, canoes and peddle boats, air rifle shooting, archery, cycling, trekking, French bowls, four swimming pools, a fitness centre offering a fully equipped gym and classes for aerobics and t’ai chi, two sandy coves with sun beds and parasols, golf at a nearby course and a children’s area with mini club, pools and daily supervised entertainment. The hotel also offers a spa with a health and beauty centre, a particularly romantic element of which is the Roman Cloister. This is a separate hydrotherapy room where couples can enjoy a selection of treatments - including Scottish and bithermic showers, a Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and various aromatherapy treatments and massages - in absolute privacy.
Ê
For business delegates, the hotel offers one of the best Convention
Centres on the island. The fully equipped business centre offers six meeting rooms, which can cater for between 25 and 600 people. Incentive attractions are numerous and even sailing excursions in a traditional 1920’s two-mast boat and mini Olympics can be arranged and are a great way to see the area. A little further a-field, Mondrago Natural Park offers beautiful beaches and the Caves of Drach offer the chance to explore three chambers and then enjoy a boat ride on Lake Martel, one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world and where classical music concerts are performed every hour.

Until 14th July, guests booking through Great Hotels of the World can enjoy deluxe accommodation, champagne and fruit in the room, a candlelit dinner in the Spanish or Japanese restaurant (including beverages), all meals at the buffet restaurant (including beverages), a discount ticket for the gourmet restaurant and full use of all the hotel’s facilities for a saving of 15% on ordinary rates.
