Le Meridien Opens First US Beachfront Hotel

Le Méridien Sunny Isles Beach has opened its doors today.  Located between Fort Lauderdale and South Beach in Miami, Le Méridien Sunny Isles Beach, Miami is the first US beachfront property for London-based Le Méridien Hotels & Resort, and is one of 21 new Le Méridien hotels in the pipeline to open during 2005 and beyond.
European style can be found throughout the hotel’s 26 floors. There are 126 one-bedroom suites and 80 two-bedroom suites, as well as four penthouses with Jacuzzis and private rooftop terraces, offering spectacular views of the bay and ocean.

Guest rooms are decorated using cool ocean colours with king-sized beds, Egyptian cotton linens and duvet covers. Each room offers the latest modern conveniences, including a full-size Italian-inspired kitchen, DVD/CD player, LCD flat screen TV, washer/dryer, spa-quality bath amenities, fully-stocked mini bars, cordless telephones and high-speed wireless Internet access.

Le Méridien Sunny Isles Beach, Miami, offers impeccable personal service combined with sophisticated ambience. The 30-seat lobby bar is an intimate meeting place, while an internationally renowned BiCE restaurant serves Milanese-inspired cuisine along with a sushi bar and al-fresco dining. Room service can be ordered 24 hours-a-day, and the in-house shopping service delivers groceries to guest suites. The Pool and Beach Bar offers tropical drinks and light meals.

Business and leisure guests can enjoy the 6,000-square-foot Spa, where rejuvenating treatments are available in a number of treatment rooms or outside in the hotel’s cabana area. There is an open-air yoga and exercise platform, and a fitness centre overlooking the ocean with a choice of two pools. Jet skis, kayaks and windsurfing equipment are also available, as are planned activities for children and families.

With a more relaxed atmosphere than South Beach, Sunny Isles Beach is the ideal place to prepare for a night on the town in Miami. Within a three-mile radius of the hotel are the Bal Harbour Shops - home to Hermes, Bvlgari, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus and Aventura Mall, featuring Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s.

Nearby year-round sports offerings include first-class golf courses, deep-sea fishing, and thoroughbred greyhound and automobile racing. Art museums, performing arts centres and theatres are plentiful, while South Florida’s dining options are limitless. The hotel’s 24-hour concierge is ready to assist guests with every option.

Le Méridien Sunny Isles Beach is offering special opening rates from £160 ($299) per night, or book four nights and get one night free, subject to availability until September 30, 2005.
