11thHour.com Names its New Mascot

13th Sep 2004

11thHour.com today announced the name for its new mascot, concluding an eight-week nationwide sweepstakes. Now known as 11thHour Louie, the company’s animated figurehead is set to serve travelers by offering helpful advice and money saving tips.
His name was randomly chosen from thousands of entries submitted by 11thHour users, all vying for one of nine weekly prizes and one grand prize giveaway. The lucky grand prize winner is Elaine B. from St. Petersburg, Florida, who won a 3-night Cancun vacation for two, including roundtrip airfare and accommodations, compliments of Funjet Vacations.

“We want 11thHour Louie to have a presence on the Web site, offering travel recommendations and information on package inclusions and details,” states Sue Bruns, Vice President of the Vacation Travel Division. “Since we want him to play an increasingly visible role, we thought it fitting for him to have an official name. No better way to name him than from our user’s creative entries. Thank you to all who participated.”
