New Age Health Spa Marks Opening Of Yoga Centre With Gala Event

The New Age Health Spa celebrates the opening of their new Cayuga Yoga and Meditation Center on Sunday, September 5, 1999 at 7:30 PM. Included in the evening`s festivities are a blessing of the space, followed by communal song, dance, tai chi, yoga and meditation. A celebratory drum circle and bonfire will complete the grand-opening ceremony.

The Cayuga Yoga and Meditation Center, named for an American Indian tribe who once inhabited the area, encompasses a 1500 square foot studio space lined with 10,000 feet of Western Redwood. Architectural features include a 26-foot-high ceiling, a radiant heated wood floor, and large arched windows offering panoramic views of the deer-filled meadow. A large field stone fireplace, constructed of native stones gathered from the 180 acre Spa property, commands attention at the front of the studio, while a 9`x12` fountain with a life-size Buddha statue in it`s center, graces a corner of the space. A state-of-the-art stereo and climate controlled ventilation insure the ultimate in comfort.

According to Patricia Fahie, New Age`s Marketing Director, “We feel the Cayuga Center offers Spa guests an ideal place to learn yoga and meditation in a tranquil environment.  Spiritual practice is an important part of our program offerings year `round”.

Classes in Hatha yoga are offered daily at New Age Health Spa. There are also special yoga intensives, offered monthly, featuring well-known guest instructors in Iyengar, Astanga, Kripalu and Kundalini practices.

Daily group meditations, held in the Cayuga Yoga and Meditation Center, include Oriental healing exercises, pranayama breathing, chanting and guided visualization techniques.
