Alan McGrory joins Windstar Cruises as Vice President of Marine Hotel Operations

Windstar Cruises announced that Alan McGrory has joined the company as Vice President of Marine Hotel Operations. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Windstar’s Marine Hotel Operations and enhancing the onboard guest experience. McGrory will report directly to Hans Birkholz, CEO and President of Windstar.

With more than 24 years in the hospitality industry, McGrory brings a strong cruise background. Most recently, he served as Product Operations Manager for the UK, Ireland and European markets at Royal Caribbean International. McGrory has managed ship hotel operations from the corporate office as well as running hotel operations onboard both large and small cruise ships. McGrory played a key part in new ship launches for Royal Caribbean.

Prior to Royal, McGrory worked for Renaissance Cruise Line. He started his career with The Doyle Collection, an international collection of luxury hotels, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. McGrory graduated from Dublin University with a BA in hotel management.

Windstar Cruises operates three sailing yachts known for their pampering without pretense and the ability to visit hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world’s most treasured destinations.  Carrying just 148 to 312 guests, the luxurious yachts of Windstar cruise to nearly 50 nations, calling at 100 ports throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas.
