CNN and TripAdvisor have announced a first-of-its-kind partnership between the worlds’s leading international news brand and the world’s largest travel site. Beginning today, CNN International’s global travel portal, CNNTravel.com, will be integrated with the most up to date TripAdvisor reviews and ratings, enabling CNN readers to view them in real time.
Online review behemoth TripAdvisor has been fined €500,000 by authorities in Italy after having been found to have published misleading reviews on its website. The site, which claims to be the largest travel domain the world, denies the accusations.
TripAdvisor has announced the appointment of Heather Leisman in the role of vice president, industry marketing. Online booking agent Viator has sent emails to 1.4 million customers notifying them of a data breach affecting its websites and mobile offerings. The organisation, which was acquired by TripAdvisor earlier this year, said the breach may have compromised their credit and debit card numbers, email addresses, and other personal information.
TripAdvisor has announced the launch of Instant Reservation, a feature that, by leveraging the recent acquisition of lafourchette, allows consumers to choose a restaurant and easily complete the reservation without leaving the TripAdvisor site experience. Instant Reservation is currently available on the over 13,000 restaurants within the lafourchette network spanning France, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium.

TripAdvisor has announced it has finalised the acquisition of Viator, a leading resource for researching and booking destination activities around the world. Viator features more than 20,000 bookable tours and attractions and more than 600,000 reviews, photos and videos submitted by travellers.
