Viator reveals data breach in United States
Online booking agent Viator has sent emails to 1.4 million customers notifying them of a data breach affecting its websites and mobile offerings. The organisation, which was acquired by TripAdvisor earlier this year, said the breach may have compromised their credit and debit card numbers, email addresses, and other personal information.
TripAdvisor launches instant restaurant booking service in central Europe
TripAdvisor has announced the launch of Instant Reservation, a feature that, by leveraging the recent acquisition of lafourchette, allows consumers to choose a restaurant and easily complete the reservation without leaving the TripAdvisor site experience. Instant Reservation is currently available on the over 13,000 restaurants within the lafourchette network spanning France, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium.

TripAdvisor has announced it has reached the mobile milestone of 100 million downloads for its free app for iPhone and Android. The number of downloads more than doubled in the past year and is up six-fold from 2011.
Brits holiday spending set to fall
TripAdvisor, today announced the results of the third instalment of TripBarometer, the world’s largest accommodation and traveller survey. This biannual study, conducted on behalf of TripAdvisor by independent research firm Ipsos, highlights country, regional and global travel trends, according to more than 61,000 travellers and hoteliers around the world, with over 5,000 respondents from the UK.
