Oman Air boosts fleet with new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
Oman Air continues its ambitious 2017 expansion plans with three new additions to the fleet. The latest aircraft is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which joins in addition to the two new 737-800s which were added to the fleet earlier this year.
Oman Air boosts India connections following bipartite deal
Oman Air is growing its capacity to India, where it will increase its weekly frequencies from 126 to 161 flights per week. The carrier currently flies between Oman and 11 destinations in India.
Oman Air moves into Terminal 4 at London Heathrow
Both daily Muscat to London flights operated by Oman Air will arrive at and depart from Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport from January 31st, 2017. Oman Air removes weight-based excess luggage charges
Oman Air will introduce a new policy on baggage, moving away from the traditional weight based allowance and excess baggage charge to a more simple policy based on number of bags being checked-in, that will save money for traveling guests. The new policy will come into effect on January 9th.
Oman Air overhauls UK sales team as operations grow
As Oman Air continues to expand in the UK, with a double daily flight from London Heathrow to Muscat and the launch of the new Manchester flight in 2017, the national airline for the Sultanate of Oman has recruited a completely new UK sales team during 2016. The team, all working from the airline’s Hammersmith offices in London will develop and grow the UK business focussing on both direct and trade sales.
Oman Air launches non-stop flights to Guangzhou
Oman Air will start operating flights from its hub in Muscat to Guangzhou, China, from December 9th. Guangzhou is Oman Air’s first destination in China. The launch of the new route is in response to significant customer demand also demonstrates Oman Air’s commitment to continuing it ambitious network expansion programme, first unveiled in 2014.
Oman Air welcomes latest Boeing 737- 800 to fleet
Oman Air has received a new Boeing 737- 800. This was the sixth brand new Boeing 737-800 joining the young Oman Air fleet this year as part of the airline’s expansion plan. The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman Air has operated B737s for many years and the aircraft provide the backbone of the airline’s long and medium haul fleet.

World Travel Market 2016: Oman Air to launch Manchester services in early 2017
Oman Air has announced the launch of its new daily flight from Manchester to Muscat starting May 1st, 2017; the latest move in the airline’s ambitious and dynamic programme of fleet and network expansion. The daily service to Oman Air’s hub in Muscat will take seven and a half hours and will be operated by a Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner and is in addition to the double daily flight from London Heathrow, making Manchester the only airport outside of London to have direct flights to Muscat.
