World Travel Market 2016: NYC & Company returns to London
This week during World Travel Market in London, NYC & Company is showcasing the ‘new’ New York City and great value winter experiences available throughout the five boroughs to influential members of the global travel industry. The official destination marketing organisation will also spotlight the city’s starring role in the upcoming movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
NYC & Company undergoes brand refresh
NYC & Company has undergone a visual rebrand, including the launch of the newly rebuilt and reimagined NYCgo.com. New elements of NYC & Company’s brand overhaul include two custom typefaces, more than 250 custom icons and a custom colour palette.
New York predicts record visitor numbers in 2016
NYC & Company has announced its 2016 tourism forecast, with the city expected to welcome a high of 59.7 million visitors, making it the seventh consecutive year for record-breaking tourism. “Every corner of New York City is full of diverse cultures, art, entertainment and performing arts,” said New York mayor Bill de Blasio. “It is not surprising – but still exciting – to know that 2016 will be yet another record breaking year for tourism.”
NYC & Company unveils overhauled Make it NYC campaign
NYC & Company has unveiled the newest iteration of its Make it NYC meetings and conventions marketing campaign at IMEX America 2015, America’s worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events. The campaign includes refreshed branding and advertising incorporating a new tagline, “Meet Where You Want to Be.”

NYC & Company sets new ambitious targets for New York tourism
Mayor Bill de Blasio, deputy mayor for housing and economic development Alicia Glen, NYC & Company president Fred Dixon, and NYC & Company board of directors chairman Emily Rafferty have announced that New York City is on the ‘Road to 10 Million More Visitors,’ sharing the next tourism forecast of 67 million annual visitors by the end of 2021. The announcement was made during NYC & Company’s annual meeting of more than 800 tourism and hospitality industry members at Lincoln Centre’s Alice Tully Hall.
New leadership for NYC & Company in Ireland
NYC & Company, the official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation for New York City, has appointed Tryphavana Cross to spearhead its sales, marketing and public relations efforts across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Cross is a well-known figure within the Irish travel industry, joining from Celebrity Cruises and having spent five years between 2008 and 2013 representing North American destinations at Aereps.
NYC & Company welcomes guests to JFK airport
NYC & Company, the tourism organisation for New York City, has launched a stunning visual welcome campaign in JFK International Airport that highlights the City’s five unique boroughs with local iconography. “The JFK Welcome Campaign puts every borough in front of the more than 15 million visitors who go through selected terminals every year,” said Fred Dixon, president, NYC & Company.
NYC & Company sign Taylor Swift for new campaign
Taylor Swift has joined NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation, to announce her participation as New York City’s Global Welcome Ambassador for 2014–2015. As part of the collaboration with Taylor, NYC & Company today launched a global tourism campaign - Welcome To New York - named after Taylor’s song of the same name from her top charting new album, 1989.
Dixon appointed President, CEO of NYC & Company
Fred Dixon has been appointed as President and CEO of NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation. Dixon will succeed George Fertitta who stepped down earlier this year. With more than 23 years of experience in the travel industry, Dixon has the overall responsibility for developing and implementing New York City’s tourism and convention development strategy internationally as well as in domestic leisure and business markets.
