NYC & Company, its long-standing partner American Express and Brand USA are launching a major out-of-home, digital and social media campaign to encourage Brits and their families to travel to New York City this summer. The campaign, under the banner New York Summer, represents an estimated total media value of $1.1 million and marks the first time NYC & Company and American Express have partnered on an international promotion.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, NYC & Company and Tourism Cares today announced that New York City will host the largest tourism hospitality and tourism volunteer organization in the country next Spring. The 10th Anniversary of Tourism Cares for America’s Give-Back Project will be held May 30-31, 2013. Hundreds of global tourism and hospitality professionals will visit the City and participate in volunteer projects to improve Brooklyn and Queens.

Broadway Week Fall 2012 will return to New York City from 4th – 16th September 2012, offering two-for-one tickets to 19 popular Broadway shows. Returning for the fourth time, Broadway Week will also offer an extra incentive – a free dessert with a ticket stub from one of the participating productions. More than 25 restaurants in the Theatre District will offer the dessert deal, including Abboccato Ristorante, db Bistro Moderne, E&E Grill House, Glass House Tavern, The Lambs Club, La Silhouette and Oceana.

Jerry Cito, NYC & Company’s first vice president of convention development, commented: “Europe remains a key market for New York City for meetings, incentives, conferences and events and so we are keen to enhance our presence further, under the direction of Paul Black.”
NYC & Company, New York City’s marketing, tourism and partnership organization, and São Paulo Turismo, São Paulo’s tourism board, today extended a cross-promotional agreement to boost travel between the two cities through 2013. As part of the agreement, which was originally signed in March 2011, both destinations will continue to exchange marketing, online, social media and communications assets as well as best practices in an effort to boost travel to their respective markets.
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and NYC & Company today announced that New York City has set a new goal to generate $70 billion in economic impact from travel and tourism by 2015. Building on a new visitation goal to attract 55 million visitors in this same time period, NYC & Company continues to expand its efforts with particular focus on attracting international visitors, who account for 50 percent of direct tourism spending.
First, The Muppets took Manhattan, and this year they return to conquer all five boroughs of New York City as the official NYC Family Ambassadors. As part of the year-long collaboration, the Muppets will encourage family travel to the city by highlighting the best ways for families to experience and enjoy the many dining and shopping venues, cultural institutions, parks and attractions across the five boroughs.
