NYC & Company has announced a partnership with local start-up firm CityMaps to launch a free, co-branded smartphone app available for download on iTunes. NYC & Company has announced a new annual visitation goal of 55 million visitors by 2015 and will focus on attracting the youth market with plans to draw an additional one million youth visitors from around the world in the next five years. New York City’s youth travel market continues to grow, with 15.1 million visitors estimated in 2011—almost 30 per cent of the city’s total visitor volume.

London and New York will move a step closer following the announcement of an advertising deal to boost tourism between the two cities. The two-year deal will involves each city giving the other advertising space – on bus shelters in NYC and on the tube in London. Tourism bodies Visit London and NYC & Co. have also agreed to share best practices and help each other out with events.
