Hilton Worldwide enters Macedonia
Hilton Worldwide’s expanding presence in South Eastern Europe will see it enter Macedonia with the signing of a franchise agreement with Ajdovan Ademoski to open the upscale DoubleTree by Hilton Skopje. The hotel is expected to open in early 2016 and joins further properties under development in the region in Croatia and Montenegro.
New Salalah Rotana Resort to further promote Oman as a luxury destination
The Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Tourism, Orascom Hotels and Developments and Rotana, the leading hotel management company in the Middle East and Africa have announced that a new 5-star Rotana Resort will soon join the growing list of premium hospitality destinations in Salalah. The development of the 444-key Salalah Rotana Resort is in line with the Ministry’s strategy to strengthen Oman’s reputation as a luxury hospitality haven and cater to a much broader global tourism market.
InterContinental Osaka opens in Japan
InterContinental Osaka has now opened in the centre of Japan’s latest commercial development, Grand Front Osaka. The mixed-use development is a new landmark in the city which also includes office buildings, commercial outlets, a convention centre, academic and entertainment facilities and residences.

Located within the 3,600-acre Lake Las Vegas master-planned resort community, Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa is a Mediterranean-inspired resort just 20 miles from the Las Vegas strip.
InterContinental expands Holiday Inn Express brand in Central America
InterContinental Hotels Group announced the signing of two new Holiday Inn Express hotels in Managua, Nicaragua and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Both properties are slated to open in 2014. Managed by Latin American Hospitality Management, a subsidiary of Grupo AGRISAL, the hotels will be franchised by an affiliate of IHG.

Ascott expands Citadines brands into Gulf region
The Ascott has confirmed it will introduce the Citadines brand to the Gulf region. Starting in Jeddah, the 166-unit Citadines Tahlia Jeddah and the 136-unit Citadines Al Salamah Jeddah are expected to open within the first quarter of 2014.

Outrigger acquires Mauritius beachfront property
Hawaii-based Outrigger Hotels and Resorts announced today that it has purchased from Dubai-based Kingdom Hotel Investments the 181-key Movenpick Resort and Spa Mauritius in the island nation of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean from Dubai-based Kingdom Hotel Investments. The transaction closed on May 29, 2013, for an undisclosed amount.
