Marriott has appointed Ray Bennett as senior vice president, lodging development for select service and extended stay brands, Eastern region, and leader of Marriott’s Diversity Ownership Initiative, a program developed in 2005 to increase the number of minority- and women-owned hotels.

Marriott unveils new global call centre in Cork

Marriott Reinforces UK & Ireland Commitment
Marriott International announced today wide-ranging developments following the agreement it concluded with Whitbread PLC in May which established a 50/50 joint ownership venture with Whitbread and enabled Marriott to assume management of Whitbread’s portfolio of 46 franchised Marriott and Renaissance hotels offering over 8,000 rooms. As previously announced, Marriott said it expected the joint venture to sell the hotels to other owners within three years with Marriott taking back long term management agreements.
Marriott Completes Conversion of Columbus Adam’s Mark
Marriott International announced today that The Columbus Hotel has been converted to its Renaissance Hotels & Resorts brand. The former Adam’s Mark property in Columbus, Ohio, has been renamed The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel. The 415- room hotel, which is located at 50 North Third Street, is owned by Terrapin Columbus, LLC and managed by Marriott International’s Renaissance Hotels & Resorts brand. Situated within a few blocks of the Greater Columbus Convention Center and State Capitol, the hotel offers 33,500 square feet of meeting space, including an 11,700-square-foot ballroom.
