World and Olympic 400 m champion Kirani James finally returns home to his native Grenada this week following his record-breaking performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Professional commitments and his studies delayed his return to Grenada.
The Grenada Olympic team was given the warmest of welcomes in the UK this weekend with two days of celebrations in Harrow and Horsham near London, within hours of reigning champion, Kirani James, claiming Gold in the 400 meters at London Diamond League 2012 on Saturday, July14.
For the first time ever, the annual Caribbean Rum & Beer Festival will be held in Grenada. After two consecutive years in Barbados, the festival is heading to the “Spice Isle” to continue to raise the profile of the region’s diverse range of rum and beer beverages.
