Finnair has taken delivery in Toulouse of the first of 19 A350 XWBs on order, thus becoming the first European operator and the third worldwide of the all-new airliner. The aircraft is configured in a premium three-class layout, with 297 seats, comprising 46 Business Class, 43 Economy Comfort and 208 Economy.

Finnair is set to launch a seasonal service from Edinburgh to Helsinki in 2016, offering travellers faster connections to Finnair’s network of Asian destinations. The service begins on April 18th 2016 and will operate to October 27th 2016. Edinburgh will be served by three flights a week operated by a Finnair Airbus A319.

Finnair Cargo, a fully owned subsidiary of Finnair, has expanded its network after signing an innovative freighter sharing deal with IAG Cargo. The route will be operated by an A300-600 cargo freighter, which will fly between London and Helsinki. London becomes Finnair’s third cargo hub in Europe in addition to Helsinki and Brussels.

Finnair is launching a suite of product upgrades and developing a mobile application as part of a larger drive to comprehensively renew the customer experience both on the ground and in the air. On long-haul flights, product upgrades coming in the fall include the Economy Comfort package, a new offering in the front of the Economy Class cabin featuring at least four inches of extra legroom, comfy headrests, high-quality headphones and personal amenity kits.
