Finnair, the Official Airline of Santa Claus, has revealed its bumper schedule to Lapland and Northern Norway, in anticipation of the upcoming winter holiday season. The new flights come as demand for travel to the Nordic nations continues to rise among customers searching for Santa and an authentic Arctic adventure.

Finland’s flag carrier Finnair, has launched its summer sale, offering customers top-flight deals across its European and Asian network. The new sale, which includes 18 of the airline’s most popular destinations for travel from the UK, is one of the airline’s biggest in recent years.

Finnair has revealed it’s launched more than 100 employee-driven sustainability initiatives in the last 12 months as part of the carrier’s centennial celebrations. The new initiatives, all proposed by Finnair employees, range from the airline’s first voluntary purchase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel to recycling Finnair cabin and ground crew uniforms.

Finnair is celebrating 30 years of direct flights from Helsinki to Manchester, having launched the first service on 27 March, 1994. Finnair’s flights provide an important connection between the North of England and markets in Asia, allowing important business routes to thrive and giving holidaymakers access to far flung destinations.

Finnair Plus loyalty members will now use Avios as their new loyalty currency, as the program enters a new era. The move comes following a partnership with IAG Loyalty to adopt Avios - the loyalty currency used by Finnair’s oneworld partners’ loyalty programs - British Airways Executive Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and Iberia Plus.

Finnair has announced the appointment of Turkka Kuusisto as the new CEO, effective from July 11, 2024, or earlier. Kuusisto, who currently serves as the CEO of Posti Group Corporation, brings extensive experience in senior leadership roles and a deep understanding of complex industries.
