Seychelles reopens Tourist Office in UK

Seychelles has reopened its Tourist Office in London with experienced Fiona Lane as Regional Manager.

The return of Seychelles’ physical presence on that market comes after a period of almost two years though Ms Lane was appointed last year and was working from an adhoc office until three weeks ago.

The move has been greatly welcomed by both the local and British trade who now hope for better sales on that market.

Ms Lane will lead her all-Seychellois team in boosting marketing activities in the UK and they will also support tour operators, hoteliers and other trade partners in their sales and marketing campaigns.

The office has also planned a comprehensive training plan for UK agents in a bid to raise their awareness of the islands.

The opening of the office was marked by a ceremony at the Stunning Chandos House on July 15 and this was followed by a workshop for travel agents.

Speaking at the reopening of the office, the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Alain St Ange, said that UK had always been an important traditional market for Seychelles and their aim now is to maintain the current plus status in visitor statistics, after reversing flagging arrivals on that market.

“Our non-representation in UK for more than one year hit our visitor arrivals from that market but we are now back to recapture our share of the British market and get back to being one of their favourite destinations,” he said.
