Seychelles President Michel attends audience with HM Queen Elizabeth II
President James Michel of the Seychelles has attended an audience with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, during his Guest of Government visit to the United Kingdom.
President Michel expressed his congratulations to Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of the celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee this year.
“On behalf of the people of Seychelles, and with expression of our profound friendship, I wish to express our sincere congratulations. We unite with the rest of the commonwealth family in wishing Your Majesty and members of the royal family, continued good health, happiness, and prosperity,” said the President.
The two Heads of State discussed the most recent matters of cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Seychelles, as well the Conference on Somalia.
Her Majesty the Queen recalled the fond memories she has of her visit to Seychelles in 1972, for the opening the Seychelles International Airport.
The Queen conveyed her best wishes to the people of Seychelles, for their continued prosperity, and development in peace and stability.
President Michel thanked Her Majesty for the warm welcome and hospitality granted to the Seychelles delegation during the official visit.
