Israel prepares to celebrate decade of gay pride
Israel is preparing to celebrate a decade of Gay Pride, with the annual Parade due to take place in Tel Aviv on June 10th.
The annual summer event sees over 100,000 revellers take to the streets of Israel’s party capital to celebrate.
Tel Aviv has become one of the most popular gay destinations in the world, and the Gay Pride Parade has placed the city firmly on the party map.
Already renowned for its sense of fun, cosmopolitan Tel Aviv offers buzzing nightlife, chic restaurants, bustling streets lined with clubs and cafes, as well as stylish boutiques for fashion followers.
Bringing together a mixed crowd of both gays and straights, this year’s Gay Pride Parade starts from Gan Meir, where you’ll find the new centre for the gay community of Tel Aviv.
The party starts with lots of music, activity booths and performances by local drag artists, before moving on to Bugrashov Street.
From there, the floats and crowds will make their way to Ben Yehuda Street, then Ben Gurion Blvd and straight to Gordon Beach where the ultimate beach party continues throughout the night.
Tel Aviv plays host to several events throughout the year targeting the gay and lesbian market, including film, art and culture festivals.
The city has fast become a popular holiday destination for the LGBT community, with an array of clubs for crazy nights out, beautiful beaches as well as year-round gorgeous weather.
