Giltedge Golf and Sport launches iPad application for SA Golf Travel
A dedicated golf travel iPad application for South Africa – the first of its kind for the country – has been launched by Giltedge Golf&Sport, a division of luxury travel group, Giltedge Travel.
The Apple application is an interactive tool that allows users to familiarize themselves with South Africa’s golf and safari products before making informed decisions on their stays. Users can search for the best golf locations; information on hotels, game lodges, and golf resorts; view hotel room layouts; get detailed golf course information; and view suggested golf and safari itineraries. Spoiled for choice, would-be visitors may also browse through locations and itineraries before briefing Giltedge on making their tailor-made golf holiday come true.
Skye Grove, Communications Manager at CapeTown Tourism, commented: “We have some of the world’s most beautiful and well-designed golf courses in Cape Town and the Western Cape. Golf travelers are a high-end group. Based on recent golf tourism research, we know that a long-haul golf holiday usually lasts 10 to 14 days and that international golf tourists traveling to the Western Cape spend an average of R13,000 on the game. It is also estimated that about 70 percent of golfers like to find new places to play golf when on holiday, which is good news for the more than 70 golf courses in the Western Cape. ”
Says Adam Veysey, Managing Director of Giltedge Golf&Sport, said: “The most popular travel and sport applications on iPads and smart phones are those that guide travelers on their trips and often serve as personal assistants. The Giltedge Golf&Sport iPad App is on-trend and a highly useful tool that will also work towards promoting South Africa, and the Western Cape as a sought-after golfing destination.”
The Giltedge Golf&Sport iPad App experience is downloadable free of charge from the Apple iTunes store at: [email protected].
