Flybe scores as domestic airline of choice for Six Nations rugby

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has reported a significant boost in sales for its upgraded domestic services and additional charters scheduled to meet additional public demand over the six week period of the Six Nations rugby tournament. The airline is also particularly proud to have been the airline of choice for the triumphant English team this past weekend when it returned from Dublin after a hard fought victory.

With an extensive UK domestic route network, fans have a large choice of Flybe flights for convenient travel to key match venues. For the upcoming Scotland v Ireland clash at Murrayfield on 24th February the airline has brought in its larger aircraft to fly several of the total 16 flights it will operate between Belfast City and Edinburgh over that weekend, with only a few seats now available.

The match between Scotland and Wales, again at Murrayfield, on March 9th is proving just as popular with such high demand for flights from Cardiff to Edinburgh that two additional return services have been added to the airline’s existing schedule. All six flights from Birmingham airport are also selling fast with affordable seats still available on the extra flight departing Cardiff on Friday March 8th at 1550.

Flybe’s MD Flybe UK comments: “One of the secrets of Flybe’s successful business model is our ability to react quickly to our customers’ needs. When the Six Nations fixture list was published, we knew that there would be increased demand on certain of our routes and we acted swiftly to meet that need both instantly and again this week by increasing capacity yet further due to passenger demand for affordable and convenient travel to the matches.”
