Dusseldorf Carnival and Indian Ocean Carnival to continue to cooperate

Dr. Rolph Herpens, the Vice President of the Dusseldorf Carnival Committee, returned to Germany from a trip to the Seychelles where he met with Alain St.Ange, the island’s Minister responsible for Tourism & Culture, and Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

Dr. Helpens posted a link on the Dusseldorf Carnival website ( www.jeck-in-duesseldorf.de/de/start-1_369.htm ) as his report on his Seychelles visit and meetings, and he says that he is working to ensure that the known and famous German Dusseldorf Carnival again participates at the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Carnival in Seychelles from February 8-10, 2013.

Edith Hunzinger, the Seychelles Tourism Board Manager based in Germany, remains the Seychelles representative in discussions with the German Carnival bodies.

Germany saw their flag paraded among the world’s best carnivals in Seychelles in March this year during the 2012 edition of the carnival in Seychelles. Among many others, the 2013 edition has already got Brazil confirming a bigger delegation made up now of Samba drummers as well as the Brazilian ladies, and Notting Hill Carnival of London will be all out again to defend their title as the best foreign delegation at the carnival parade in Seychelles. Cultural Troupes are reported to be confirming from the four corners of the world as Seychelles, La Reunion, and Madagascar from the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands have now teamed up with Zimbabwe as joint co-hosts for the 2013 edition of the mid-ocean carnival in the tropics.
