Crowne Plaza Renovation Complete

Following a multi-million dollar renovation, the new Crowne Plaza San Francisco International Airport in Burlingame, Calif., is open. Located two miles south of the airport, the 309-room property (including 11 suites,) features the West Bay Café and Lounge, heated pool and whirlpool spa, expanded meeting and banquet facilities and several 24-hour services including a fully-equipped fitness center, business center, room service, complimentary airport shuttle and sundry shop.

The Crowne Plaza San Francisco International Airport is owned by Airport Boulevard Hotel, LLC and managed by Hostmark Hospitality Group under a license agreement with an affiliate of Six Continents Hotels, Inc.

According to Don Corbosiero, Crowne Plaza General Manager, “We will be among the most unique hotels on the Peninsula, focused on providing the finest service of any hotel in Northern California. We are pleased to welcome our guests to a hotel that will become a community centerpiece.”

Each of the stylish new guest rooms and suites feature high speed Internet access, two dual-line telephones, Spa Therapy bath amenities, cable TV, Movies-on-Demand, hairdryer, iron and coffeemaker. The new décor is very contemporary, with warm light ochre and green colors accented with maple furnishings. The bathrooms feature a unique cantilevered teal opaque glass shelf over a granite vanity with a sleek stainless steel and opaque glass sconce to light the room.

The Crowne Plaza Club floors and Lounge offer private key access, daily continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres, and a large screen television. Additional guestroom amenities include rainmaker showerheads and pillow-top mattresses.

The hotel’s newly designed 14,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space support large and small groups. The 15 state-of-the-art meeting and boardrooms are all appointed with an adjustable lighting and sound system and high-speed Internet access.

The hotel’s indoor heated pool is located adjacent to the fitness center that is outfitted with the latest in LifeFitness equipment. The hotel also offers concierge, multi-lingual staff, valet dry cleaning and laundry, barbershop, secure outdoor parking and a car rental agency.

The new West Bay Café can seat up to 140 people in the restaurant and up to 75 in the lounge. The menu parallels the classic contemporary warmth of the design by providing wholesome, farm-fresh ingredients in new and traditional ways. The cooking is based on the classic American grill - comfort food that people crave in new and more exciting combinations.

The low-rise section of the hotel was redesigned to create a more memorable entrance. To establish an identity and ensure the building’s visibility, special glass films were installed to change the color of the glass on the entire façade. The glass pattern has been arranged with privacy in mind, utilizing opaque glass and a darker tinted version in specific areas.

The Crowne Plaza is adjacent to Bayside Park, which includes a driving range, several miles of trails along San Francisco Bay for walkers, runners and cyclists and lighted athletic fields.

“The new Crowne Plaza is the perfect addition to our company`s current portfolio of hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area, said Bob Mayer, vice president of marketing for Crowne Plaza Hotels. “The hotel`s stylish accommodations, cutting edge technology, excellent location and commitment to exemplary service will provide a wonderful experience for area residents, visitors, business professionals and travelers alike.”
