St Lucia’s Ritz Carlton set for 2009 opening

The Ritz-Carlton is further enhancing its presence among the islands of the Caribbean with plans to open The Ritz-Carlton, St. Lucia.This will also include The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Lucia, an exclusive 275-room oceanfront resort andresidential retreat situated on Half Moon Bay, near Laborie, St. Lucia. Allrooms will have ocean views and guests will benefit from a tranquil, protected bay at Half Moon Bay with spectacular views of St. Lucia’sverdant “Piton” volcanoes.

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Lucia, projected to open in 2009, will be the eighthlocation in The Ritz-Carlton portfolio of award winning Caribbeanproperties, joining existing hotels, and sites under construction, in St.Thomas, (U.S. Virgin Islands), Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, TheBahamas, and Turks and Caicos.

The project will feature a 20,000-square-foot spa and access to two 18-holegolf courses overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with a shared clubhousefacility. Arnold Palmer will design the main golf course, with eventualplans for a second golf course designed in a “links” style by the Irishgolf course architect Christy O’Connor Jnr. The resort will include aspecialty restaurant with pool grill, a 30-seat lobby lounge, and a130-seat clubhouse restaurant and bar situated close to the oceanfront golfcourse.

For destination weddings and small meetings, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Luciaoffers both the beauty of its location and a design, which includes 7,000square feet of meeting space. Among the facilities is a 5,000-square-footballroom (divisible into five) and 2,000 square feet of additional rooms.
