Alt leadership for Sabre Hospitality

Sabre Hospitality Solutions has announced the appointment of Alex Alt to president and general manager, effective April.

He replaces Felix Laboy, who has decided to leave to pursue personal interests.

Alt joined Sabre in April 2012 as chief operating officer for Sabre Hospitality.

In the past year he has worked with Laboy to grow the business globally, and expand the Sabre Hospitality team, adding experienced leaders in operations, call centre and customer care roles.

He also led the group’s long-term strategy and launched several initiatives to enhance Sabre Hospitality’s customer service model.

“Sabre Hospitality has experienced exceptional growth in the past few years, and Felix has been instrumental in leading its evolution from a successful entrepreneurial business to a fully scaled IT solutions provider,” said Tom Klein, president, Sabre Holdings.

“It is now the fastest-growing business in our portfolio, and I’m confident that Alex’s customer-first philosophy and industry experience will serve him well to lead the business.”

Prior to joining Sabre, Alt was with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, most recently as senior vice president of global development and strategy, where he played a key role in the global growth and expansion of the business.

Before that, he was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey & Company.

In the late 1990s Alt worked in Sabre’s Finance department before going on to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas in Austin.
