Agoda.com offers early bird deals for the 110th Canton Fair
Agoda.com, Asia’s global hotel booking site and part of Nasdaq-listed Priceline Group, today released special hotel rates and promotions for delegates attending the 110th China Import and Export Fair.
Better known as Canton Fair, this major trade expo will take place in 3 sessions from October 15 to November 4, 2011. Held in the high-tech pavilions of Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou, the expo is set to attract in excess of 200,000 buyers. Past expos have enjoyed turnovers of more than US$300 billion, and the event is considered to be an unmissable opportunity for manufacturers in the Asian region.
Canton Fair is held twice per year, showcasing commodities from a range of sectors, split into groups. Phase 1 (October 15-19) features household appliances and electronics, vehicles and machinery, hardware and tools, chemical products, and raw industrial materials. Phase 2 (October 23-27) features consumer goods, home décor, and gifts. Phase 3 (October 31-November 4) features clothing and textiles, stationery, health and medical products, and food.
Pazhou Complex – built specifically for the Canton Fair – is one of the world’s leading expo sites and the largest of its kind in Asia. Located on Pazhou Island, it covers a massive 700,000 square meters and features 16 exhibition halls. Its curved metallic exterior reflects the flow of the nearby Pearl River and the surrounding parks and gardens provide a relaxing environment for expo attendees between appointments.
Delegates with time to spare in Guangzhou will find a city packed full of things to do. As the third-largest city in China, there are countless touristic attractions, as well as the opportunity to shop and sample some famous Cantonese cuisine. Major sites worth checking out include the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, Yuexiu Park, the Shamian Island French concession, and Guangdong Museum.
