Omni Tucson National Golf Resort and Spa, located in Tucson Arizona, was recently recognized by Desert Golf Magazine as the top resort golf course in Southern Arizona. In August 2001, ballots were sent to PGA professionals in the Tucson area to determine the top ten public, private, and resort courses in each category. Desert Golf published the results in its September/October 2001 issue.

Omni Hotels Acquires Crowne Plaza Majestic Hotel In St. Louis

Omni Hotels announced today that it has added another crown jewel to its portfolio of four-star luxury hotel properties—the Crowne Plaza Majestic Hotel in St. Louis to be renamed the Omni Majestic Hotel. The purchase of the Omni Majestic Hotel marks the re-entry of the four-star hotel chain into the St. Louis market since its presence in 1989 with the Omni Hotel at Union Station. Omni Hotels will officially take ownership of the property Oct. 29, 1997.

Omni Hotels Releases Los Angeles Property

After four years as an Omni Hotels franchise, the Omni Los Angeles Hotel & Centre will become an independent operating hotel. The new name of the hotel will be the Wilshire Grand Hotel. The change becomes effective Feb. 1, 1999.

Omni Hotels Acquires Charlotte Property

Omni Hotels announced today that it has acquired the Radisson Plaza in Charlotte, N.C., to be renamed the Omni Charlotte Hotel. Located at the corner of Trade and Tryon Streets in Charlotte s exclusive uptown area, the 365-room hotel is connected via a glass-enclosed skybridge to the citys key downtown business and entertainment districts. A scheduled renovation in excess of $7 million is expected to transform the Omni Charlotte Hotel into one of the citys premier luxury hotels.
