Millennium & Copthorne has expanded its portfolio of hotels in China with the opening of the M Hotel Chengdu, the first M Hotel outside Singapore after the brand was launched in Singapore in 2000. The 196-room M Hotel Chengdu is M&C’s latest venture in China.

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C) signed a contract to manage its first resort hotel in China. The 151-room Millennium Hangzhou Resort is situated in a forested hillside in Jiuxi Ping Feng or Nine Creek Mountain in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Millennium & Copthorne has reports a profit of £60 million for the second quarter of financial 2011, up from £31 million the previous year. During the quarter ended June 30th, RevPAR saw a 6.3 per cent constant currency increase, largely due to an increase in room rates, with the positive results leading to suggestions of expansion.
