Boeing has said flydubai has signed an agreement to implement Boeing’s suite of mobile maintenance applications. The airline will deploy Maintenance Turn Time, Toolbox Mobile Library and Toolbox Mobile Parts – solutions that provide real-time access to the information technicians need to quickly resolve maintenance issues.

Boeing says strong economic and passenger growth will be main drivers of new airplane demand in the Asia Pacific region. The aircraft giant estimates the region’s airlines will need an additional 12,820 airplanes valued at $1.9 trillion, representing 36 per cent of the world’s new airplane deliveries over the next 20 years.

Boeing and SilkAir have celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first Next-Generation 737-800. The delivery also marked the start of the Singapore-based airline’s transition to an all-Boeing fleet. Over the coming years, Boeing will deliver a total of 23 737-800s and 31 737 MAX 8s to SilkAir.

Boeing and Saudi Arabian Airlines Holding have signed a broad collaboration agreement allowing the companies to pursue possible partnership opportunities in the areas of defence and commercial aviation that will benefit customers and generate new business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “We are pleased to sign this collaboration agreement with Boeing to support the transformation process Saudia is going through, and hope both Saudia and Boeing will get the anticipated commercial, economic and social benefits out of such collaboration,” said Khalid Almolhem, director general, Saudi Arabian Airlines.

A Boeing 747-8 Freighter painted in the livery of the Seattle Seahawks took to the skies over Washington in advance of the team’s appearance Sunday in Super Bowl XLVIII. The airplane’s flight pattern took it past Seattle landmarks including the Space Needle and CenturyLink Field, home of the Seahawks.

Boeing and Cathay Pacific Airways announced that Cathay Pacific has ordered an additional 747-8 Freighter and three 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes. The order, valued at about $1 billion at current list prices, will bolster Cathay Pacific’s 747-8 Freighter fleet and 777-300ER fleet to 14 and 53, respectively.
