Thomson Airways makes safe landing following bomb threat
A Thomson Airways flight has made a safe landing in Greek capital Athens following an onboard bomb threat.
Greek fighter jets were scrambled to escort the Boeing 757-200, which was on its way from Bristol to the popular resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt.
A total of 213 people were on board the plane, with no reports of injuries.
The crew put out a mayday while over northern Greece and two F-16 jets were sent to escort it to Athens.
Passengers were evacuated once the aircraft was on the ground.
Thomson is owned by UK-based TUI Travel.
